Surprise! Itβs November: 3 ways To Quickly Get You and Your Team Centered
π€― I blinked. Now it's November. Is your cultural retail store ready to deliver magic? If you're already feeling the holiday retail panic creeping in, you are not alone.
I've got 3 ways to quickly get you and your team centered while preparing for success:
1. ππ½ The Proactive "We Got This" Team Huddle: Schedule a team meeting to launch into the season along with a "Holiday Playbook" with all the details they might need (operating hours, security protocols, sales days, shipping deadlines, etc.). When the team knows you have a plan and their role in it, they can move with confidence.
2. π The "Future-Proof Your Supplies" Audit: Avoid the headache of running out of essential, non-merchandise supplies on your busiest Saturday. Conduct a surgical audit right now of everything you need for products (bags, tape, tissue paper, ribbons) and for your store (like receipt paper, labels). Preventing the small, panicky moments of running out of a core essentials is the easiest way to ensure you can focus entirely on selling and providing an amazing store experience.
3. πThe "One KPI To Rule Them All": Okay, it might not be as shiny as a fictional ring, but it's far easier to keep track of. Instead of tracking ten things, pick one easily measurable, high-impact Key Performance Indicator (KPI) to focus your team on. It gives your team a clear, actionable goal and is a great way to keep all departments looped in on your success while you're tackling the holidays.
